DUTIES: Accurately and efficiently check in and check out guests using a computer system, assist guests as requested, handle cash, answer telephones and make reservations when necessary.
Appearance: Pleasant, professional, neat and clean hands and nails, well-groomed, conservative hairstyle, neatly trimmed beard or mustache, if applicable.
Behavior: Friendly, positive, professional, interested in job and guests, team player.
Basic Skills: Able to efficiently and accurately operate the front desk computer, honest, loyal, dependable, able to organize and plan, patience, basic arithmetic.
Communication Skills: Good grammar, strong verbal skills (bi-lingual an asset), legible handwriting, able to communicate accurately and effectively with guests in verbal and written form.
Other: Basic understanding of guests’ needs and desires and methods of servicing to the guests’ satisfaction, adaptable to change.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Previous Experience: Previous front desk clerk experience is desired, money handling, complaint handling, guest service.
Special Skills: Handling guest complaints and requests, salesmanship, problem solving, attention to detail.
Product Knowledge: Hotel rooms procedures, PBX, reservations, bell service, hotel facilities, hours of operation.
Other: Knowledge of city.
